Board of Directors & Treasurer

Jane Latin Mackey joined the Bend Biomedical Board of Directors in 2024, bringing her extensive expertise in web design and organizational strategy to the nonprofit. As a Director, she is currently focused on designing and developing Bend Biomedical’s website, aiming to enhance the organization’s online presence and streamline fundraising efforts. Jane’s commitment to improving access to healthcare aligns with Bend Biomedical’s mission to serve neglected populations around the world. Jane also serves as treasurer of Bend Biomedical.

Before her role at Bend Biomedical, Jane made significant contributions to animal welfare by founding two animal rescue organizations: Porchlight Rescue, which dedicated itself to rescuing abandoned pregnant dogs and finding homes for both mothers and their pups, and One Tree Sanctuary, tasked with rescuing, rehabilitating, and providing on-going care for abused and neglected farmed animals. Through these initiatives, she demonstrated her passion for helping those in need, whether human or animal. Also, as a former CPA who maintained an accounting practice, Jane will contribute to the practical, financial side of Bend Biomedical.

Academically, Jane holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Duke University and a Bachelor of Science from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. During her time at Duke, she served as the President of the Graduate and Professional Student Body, showcasing her leadership skills and commitment to her peers.

Currently residing in Woodside, California, Jane enjoys spending time with her husband, Bob, and their three children. She remains dedicated to making a positive impact in her community through her professional work and volunteer efforts. Jane is proud to be a part of the Bend Biomedical team, contributing her skills to further the organization’s important work.
