Introducing Sunil Khanna, Ph.D., a distinguished member of the Bend Biomedical Board of Directors since 2022. Dr. Khanna’s profound expertise and extensive research in Global Health make him an invaluable asset to our nonprofit organization.

As the Professor and Chair (endowed) of Global Health at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon, USA, Dr. Khanna has established himself as an internationally renowned figure in the field. His research has focused on examining inclusive, participatory, empowering, and sustainable strategies that engage communities in Botswana and India. Through his work, Dr. Khanna aims to decolonize global health and enhance the health and well-being of individuals by fostering locally relevant, engaging, and sustainable approaches.

Dr. Khanna’s educational background includes an undergraduate degree in Botany (Zoology and Chemistry) from the University of Delhi. He further pursued his academic journey, earning a Ph.D. in Anthropology (Human Genetics) from the same institution. Driven by his passion for understanding the complex dynamics of human societies, Dr. Khanna also holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology from Syracuse University.

Beyond his academic accomplishments, Dr. Khanna is a prolific international author and speaker, disseminating his insights and research findings to a broad audience. His expertise has contributed significantly to the field of Global Health, fostering meaningful discussions and driving positive change in healthcare practices.
