Board of Directors
Aly Fuller, J.D., Ph.D., joined the Bend Biomedical Board of Directors in 2021. Aly’s extensive experience and expertise in intellectual property and government affairs make her an asset to our nonprofit global health team.
Currently serving as the VP of Intellectual Property and Government Affairs at Prolacta Bioscience, Aly is responsible for cultivating, maintaining, defending, and enforcing an extensive intellectual property portfolio. She plays a vital role in overseeing Prolacta’s advocacy and international government affairs teams, as well as contributing to the research and development and business development efforts of the organization.
Aly’s commitment to empowering women is exemplified through her creation and leadership of the Women’s Leadership Development Academy (WLDA) at Prolacta. This academy serves as a platform for professional development and mentorship, aimed at educating and empowering the women of Prolacta and their communities.
With over 12 years of experience as a patent agent/attorney in the life sciences and pharmaceutical sectors, Aly brings a holistic approach to intellectual property. Prior to joining Prolacta in 2017, she served as Prolacta’s outside counsel during her tenure at Cooley LLP for nearly nine years. Her practice encompassed various aspects of intellectual property, including patent prosecution, due diligence, oppositions, reexamination proceedings, and the preparation of business-focused opinions. Aly’s strategic mindset in building intellectual property assets has enabled her to facilitate strategic partnerships, product acquisitions, and capital transactions.
In addition to her responsibilities at Prolacta, Aly dedicates significant time to pro bono representation, specifically advocating for LGBTQ individuals seeking asylum in the United States to escape persecution in their home countries.
Aly graduated from Gannon University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She furthered her education by earning a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Immunology from Northwestern University and a cum laude Doctor of Jurisprudence from The Catholic University Columbus School of Law. Aly is admitted to practice in Washington state, Washington, D.C., and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
We are honored to have Aly Fuller as a valued member of our Board of Directors. Her vast expertise in intellectual property, dedication to women’s empowerment, and commitment to pro bono work align seamlessly with our mission at Bend Biomedical. Together, we strive to make a lasting impact on global health, ensuring access to quality healthcare for all.
