Board of Directors
Tameem Bakkar joined the Bend Biomedical Board of Directors in 2022, bringing with him a wealth of expertise in information technology. As the owner and CEO of Ensemble Technical Services based in Orlando, Florida, Tameem has extensive experience in IT leadership and a deep understanding of the technical needs that support modern healthcare solutions. His background includes pivotal roles in technology management, including as a department head at HTI and as a programmer at Quartet, LLC, where he developed his skillset in overseeing complex technical projects and managing innovative software solutions.
Tameem holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a technology emphasis from the University of Washington. His passion for music led him to join the esteemed Husky Marching Band as a student, and he continued to support the program by later leading the Husky Alumni Band. This blend of creativity and technical expertise has shaped Tameem’s approach to problem-solving, allowing him to bring a unique perspective to his work in both the IT field and in global health initiatives with Bend Biomedical.
With an Arab background and a personal commitment to improving healthcare access in the Middle East, Tameem is particularly interested in tackling preventable diseases like trachoma and soil-transmitted helminths, including hookworm infections. His dedication to these causes reflects his belief in the importance of eradicating diseases that disproportionately affect underserved communities. By lending his expertise to Bend Biomedical, he hopes to help make impactful strides in public health and disease prevention, particularly for vulnerable populations in the region.
Tameem lives with his wife near Orlando, where he continues to lead Ensemble Technical Services while actively contributing to Bend Biomedical’s mission. His role on the board combines his technical acumen with his passion for global health, and he is excited to work alongside other members to expand Bend Biomedical’s reach and impact.
